ABOUT THE CENTER
Started by Dr. Willow Moore in 1996, Maryland Natural Health Center provides a space for clients to receive natural health care and to purchase high-quality natural products and supplements (See Dispensary for a list of what we stock and ways to order products from us). Dr. Kargman joined the Center in 2000 and took over the Center in 2001 when Dr. Moore re-located to the Pacific Northwest.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy here at Maryland Natural Health Center is to look at each person as an individual and treat the whole person, not just their symptoms. We believe that healthcare should be a partnership between the patient and the practitioner, and that educating the patient about their bodies and empowering them to take charge of their health is of utmost importance. We place an emphasis on preventative medicine as vital to maintaining good health.
SERVICES PROVIDED
At Maryland Natural Health Center, clients can receive a combination of services all designed to promote optimal health. As a naturopath and acupuncturist, Dr. Kargman is skilled in a number of modalities, including acupuncture, botanical medicine, homeopathy, herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, lifestyle counseling, craniosacral therapy, and allergy elimination.
In addition to services, the Maryland Natural Health Centers’s Dispensary carries an extensive supply of hi-quality nutritional supplements only available to health care providers, for our clients.
INSURANCE
All fees for service are paid in full at the time of each visit, and clients can then submit claim forms to their insurance companies for reimbursement if they wish. A variety of insurance companies such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield often reimburse patients for a portion of their visit. Please check with your insurance company about their coverage for acupuncturists.
APPOINTMENTS
Visits are by appointment only, unless dropping in to purchase items from the dispensary. Typically, initial appointments last an hour, during which Dr. Kargman takes a full history and makes an initial plan for treatment. Follow-up visits can last from a half-hour to an hour, depending on the type of treatment. Below is a brief schedule of costs for visits–additional costs may include longer visits, additional services, lab work ordered or supplements purchased:
Initial Visit/ 1 hour $150
Follow-up/ ½ hour $ 70
Acupuncture $ 65 - $85
For those patients who need it, phone consults/appointments are available. They are scheduled as regular appointments and billed as such. Supplements can be shipped for those who live a distance away. Payment for visits and supplements can be in the form of cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. Currently, Dr. Kargman sees patients at Maryland Natural Health Center (Owings Mills) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As well appointments can be made to see her on Mondays at Ruscombe Mansion (Mt. Washington, Baltimore).
